The Bubble Emporium is based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK; it is a small home based business which sells its products through the online shop. It was started initially because I had a need for soap that didn't irritate my own skin. I found that most of the soap products that were on sale included chemicals that were too harsh for me. This is because most commercially bought soaps have the glycerin removed from them, which is then sold on and used for other purposes. SLS and SLES which are two of the harsher foaming additives are then added to give the bars a decent foaming quality. That is what I am allergic to, it doesn't agree with my skin at all, so I started on my own journey to source some nice soap that I could use, as I was fed up of buying run of the mill simple soaps.
I wanted to be like everyone else and be able to have some fragrance in a bar that was kind to my skin too. For this purpose I have included two sections of soaps that are suitable for sensitive skins, one which has the regular fragrance oils and one that includes fragrance oils that are allergen free also. The handmade soaps are vegetable glycerin based which is proven to lock moisture into the skin, meaning that our soaps will moisturise whilst gently cleansing, leaving your skin soft, nourished and delicately scented.
They are
handmade and handcrafted and we have a large array of bath products for
you to pamper yourself and your family with, or to give as gifts. You will find
a wide range of handmade soaps, bar soaps, bath soaps, sensitive skin care soaps, luxury
soft bath butters for when you feel the need to pamper yourself, novelty soaps
and children’s soaps, as well as other handmade bath treats such as bath bombs, bath
salts and bath melts. We always use the highest grades of essential oils, fragrance oils and additions.
I have developed a love of this craft, I find it very relaxing and adore creating my items for someone, and just how they like them. All of the items that I sell are handmade; I don't carry huge stocks of these items, which we pick off the shelf. When I receive your order it is made especially for you, fresh and to your specifications.
If you have a look around the site and don’t find what you are looking for, please ask, I don’t bite and I am open to new ideas if you have anything special in mind. Gift baskets can be made to order, with a selection of handmade soaps, bath bombs, truffles, or whatever you choose, you chosen items can be wrapped in cello bags with curling ribbons if you require. We can also make up special
orders for wedding favours in your desired colour schemes.
Because our products are handmade to order, it is
impossible to list every combination that we could offer. If you want a certain
fragrance combined with a particular soap shape or colour, please feel free to
contact us and ask.
As an addition to our fresh handmade service, we have now introduced a natural handmade soaps section. These handmade soaps are made in the old fashioned way from vegetable oils and butters, then cured for a number of weeks to harden and grow milder. They are excellent soaps with great lather and very good for your skin. These are made in small batches and will be offered on the website when available and ready for sale. Please be assured that
none of our products are tested on animals, are cruelty free and most are
suitable for vegetarians/ vegans. All of the products are made in house, all are safety assessed and certified to sell within the EU. This means that the ingredients, manufacturing and recipes have all been checked, and are safe for use. These are done by a fully qualified toxicologist chemist.
I don’t think that it is generally known that to be able to legally sell such products as bath bombs, soaps etc that it must meet certain legislative guidelines; the reason being is public safety. This legislation sets the standard and ensures that all toiletry items are safe to use on the body this protects the public and the soap maker. Please ensure that you buy your products from someone who complies within these guidelines for your own safety.
